A Story of Few Words…

Snail's Sunflower started as a simple concept four years ago: write a manuscript for a wordless picture book. From that humble beginning, it blossomed into a touching story with quirky characters and strangely beautiful pictures made with coffee, markers, and a 100-year-old dictionary.

Snail's Sunflower was written and illustrated by me. In the book, we follow Snail's emotional journey as he discovers a sunflower. Not much of a green thumb, Snail cares for the sunflower with heart and soul, if not talent, but is forced to come to terms with the nature of sunflowers as fall approaches.
